Company history/background

For takeover: unique sustainable Dutch furniture brand with a completely original collection of Dutch design flat-pack furniture, manufactured and sold from the flagship retail store in the center of Amsterdam. Also included is a successful online store with configurators that allow customers to order customized furniture at no extra cost. The production process, from front-end configurator to CNC production, is fully automated, eliminating the need for a designer or technical draftsman. Items are also available through a limited number of selected retail outlets, such as the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the museum Beelden aan Zee in Scheveningen.

To date, over a million euros worth of furniture has been sold, with items reaching more than 40 countries. Due to personal circumstances and the belief that others are better suited to shape the next (scaling) phase of the brand, the entire business is now for sale.

Company activities

All 25+ designs are flat-packed and can be assembled without glue, screws, or nails, relying solely on wood joints. This collection is highly suitable for cost-effective shipping. The extremely high quality allows us to offer a lifetime warranty. The company is designed for (international) scalability, with decentralized production (producing close to the consumer, regardless of their location, instead of centrally in low-wage countries and filling containers) playing a crucial role.

The unique webshop with configurators allows customers to customize their item to their liking, from basic dimensions to colors and detailed specifications. The front-end configurators are fully automated and linked through a dashboard to both parametric design software and nesting software, allowing a customer-scaled item to be produced by the CNC machine without the intervention of a designer or technical draftsman.

Unique selling points

Other

The two founders, one with extensive international fashion/retail experience and a senior architect, started the company six years ago and have built the brand from the ground up. Sustainability, internationalization, and scalability of the concept have always been central, with decentralized production playing a crucial role. Included in the sale are:

  • Retail flagship store in the center of Amsterdam
  • Workshop with all machines and equipment for production, including a high-end CNC milling table
  • €85,000 worth of inventory and equipment
  • Trademark protection throughout the EU
  • IP for all 25 furniture designs, trademark, logo, etc.
  • Database of 1800 active customers, many of them loyal fans, with a significant number of repeat purchases
  • Webshop with configurators, social media accounts
